Custom Wood Shift Knob for 2012 Ram 2500 G56 6-Speed Manual
This custom solid wood shift knob was made for a 2012 Ram 2500 with a 6-speed manual transmission. Before making the knob, we confirmed the original G56 shift pattern and the correct shifter thread size.
The 2012 Ram 2500 G56 manual uses an M10 x 1.5mm thread. The customer also provided the specific G56 shift pattern for the top logo design:
L 3 5 R 2 4 6
Unlike a standard 6-speed layout, the G56 shift pattern includes an L gear and reverse gear positioned on the lower left side. Because of this, the shift pattern artwork needs to be made specifically for this transmission.
For this build, we created a custom top logo insert matching the customer’s requested G56 pattern. The finished insert was paired with a solid wood shift knob body featuring a warm red-brown wood grain and a brass-style lower collar.
